Hard Candy Selfie Cheek Tint is a new, affordable universally flattering dewy cheek stain that Hard Candy launched for Summer 2022 a few short weeks ago. Ahh yes! Another case of what’s old is new again! Who remembers going through the cheek stain crazy a few years ago where every shade came out a bubblegum pink but was marketed as a “perfect pink that was universally flattering on all skin tones!”?
Stila had a few as I recall! One of which was the Coconut Crush Lip & Cheek Stain and of course, Benefit is the real OG with Benetint (and hey, if you haven’t tried Floratint yet what are you waiting for? It’s amazing!).
I’m always up for a good cheek stain, especially in the Summer. Cheek stains are always hard workers! They tend to last through pool and beach days, humid weather, hot weather, and beyond. They are pretty much the perfect pick if you want something that’s long-wearing and waterproof.
Not everyone is impressed with the “universally flattering” formulas as they tend to be straight-up bubblegum pink but I’ve never minded that much as I’ve never found one that didn’t work great for my skin tone and ended up giving me that I just kissed a boy I like flush of color.
