The pandemic has slowed a lot of things down! Travel, shipments, and life but beauty mergers and acquisitions are still going strong! One of the biggest deals this year was Estee Lauder finally acquiring the rest of Deciem in an investment that cost them 2.2 billion dollars. Makes you wander what Brandon Truaxe would think about that eh?

Another interesting move was Shiseido striking a 1.5 billion deal with CVC Capital Partners in a join venture that closed this July. This frees the parent company up to chase more higher-end beauty options in the future. This may also translate to making them a major competitor to Estee Lauder and L’Oreal in the future.

Here’s a few other interest beauty mergers and acquisitions that happened recently.

Cathay Capital took a major stake in Juliette Has a Gun. Noteworthy: After this Juliette Has a Gun suddenly started venturing outside of fragrance hmmmm!

Coty closed in on KKW Beauty with a 20% percent stake that cost them 200 million. Coty is keeping in the family I guess considering they recently purchased a major stake in Kyle Cosmetics as well!

Many of Shiseido personal brands from Japan like Uno (you totally remember Orlando Bloom in those awesome Japanese Fiber Neo commercials right?!) and Tsubaki were transferred over to CVC Capital.

There’s also the major deals of Sephora opening up mini stores in Kohl’s and of course the Ulta locations opening at Target.
2020 was a crazy year but the beauty deals are still going strong.

I wonder what we can expect next….!

MAC Black Cherry is back in stock at ulta.com today as well as maccosmetics.com! I was ranting how quickly it sold out during the preview on MAC’s website and was delightfully surprised at the fast restock!

We didn’t get the entire Asian launch but what we did get is beautiful! Particularly the blushes which I grabbed up as soon as they popped up at Ulta.

The MAC Black Cherry Collection celebrates Spring and the gorgeous cherry blossoms that bloom in April in Japan! Yes, the packaging is gorgeous with the pretty cherry blossom motif but I was just really into the gorgeous blush shades. MAC did an early launch a few days ago for Devoted and Obsessed Members but I was in a Zoom Meeting and by the time I got to loading the site most of it sold out (within a 49 minute period of the collection launching! Sheesh!).

Let’s take a look!

That’s right! You read the title correctly! There’s an E.L.F. x Chipotle Makeup Collection dropping March 9th for Beauty Squad Loyalty Members on E.L.F. Cosmetics website (anyone can join, it’s free).

This takes Taco Tuesday to the next level!

The collection includes an E.L.F. x Chipotle Eyeshadow Palette ($16) that includes 12 eyeshadow shades inspired by the ingredients on the Chipotle line. Does this mean they’ll be shades named Pico and Lime Rice? Someone has to ask these questions might as well be me! There’s also a Make It Hot Lipgloss ($8) which is a hot lip plumpking gloss that contains Vitamin E and Coconut Oil and finally an Extra Guac Face Sponge Set for $10 and includes an avocado shaped sponge with angled and rounded sided as well as a mini avo pit sponge for harder to reach areas! Have we even lived if we don’t own an avo shaped face sponge? I think not!

There’s even a Makeup Bag ($18) designed to look just like Chipotle’s bag of chips!

Chipotle is hitting these collogrations hard lately. First Shawn Mendes not E.L.F. Cosmetics! Who’s next?

I know I’m feeling all those gorgeous greens and browns in this palette! And I’m hoping they actually name them because that would just make this collection so much more funny!

E.L.F. x Chipotle is served up fresh on March 9th!

Are you grabbing it?
