Tell me everything you know about Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara because people keep telling me that I NEED to try it. Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara is a long-wearing mascara that promises longer, fuller, curled lashes. Apparently, the brush provides great lift and hugs lashes at the lash line to pull them upwards and out. This freaking mascara has haunted my life for the past few months as I hear about it everywhere. Friends tell me I need to try it, readers tell me I need to try it, Tiktokers tell me I need to try it. I’m just gonna cave! I’ve added it to my Sephora Holiday Savings Event List and I’ll be purchasing it to try out.
Let’s see how great it is. They have a mini for $11 which discounted will set me back $9 bucks but I’m just buying the full-size which is $16 after the discount. Honestly, with drugstore mascara prices as they are now $16 isn’t too bad a deal. I’ve seen drugstores hawking $14 mascaras! At least Rare Beauty is a mid-range brand. Also, Rare Beauty has some sales but most are 20% off but never higher so, I feel good about this purchase!
My ride-or-die is still Tarte Lights Camera Lashes! No one is gonna tell me it isn’t the best of the best out there. I just picked up the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-Pc Collector’s Set from qvc.com for $39 bucks with free shipping! Total score! 4 Full-Size Mascaras! Great pick-up if you love this formula!
But back to Rare Beauty….!
Tell me, have you tried the Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara?
Did you like it?

Ok, I did an ulta.com order…! I really didn’t need anything but I have a good deal of points and 20% off seems very far away so, I decided to treat myself today. Sometimes on Mondays you gotta do that.
What’s your most recent haul from Ulta?
Here’s what I got today!
Ariana Grande Cloud Body Mist $12
I low key love Cloud! It’s truly a beautiful marshmallow-y blend! I snagged up a body mist of it today for $12 bucks.

DefineMe Fragrance Mulan Parfum Travel Spray $28
I really live DefineMe’s Ariel Perfume so I decided to give the new Mulan one a try out! It sounds like it has some lovely notes of fresh peach, pomelo, cherry blossom, pink magnolia with anilla bean, sandalwood, and oakmoss!

Tarte Clay Play To-Go Cheek Palette $21
I’ve been contouring a bit with bronzer lately (like I even know what I’m doing) and Tarte’s new Clay Play Palette caught my eye. I love the blush shade in this and I thought combined with the bronzer and highlighter it might make a nice glow-y look for Summer.

Essence Hello, Good Stuff! Glow Serum Primer $4
Ok, so, everyone keeps comparing this to Glow Recipe’s formula which made it a must try! This Watermelon water enriched formula hydrates while Niacinamide acts to brighten.

Wet n Wild Ohana Shadow Palette For Eye And Face $15.99
I loved the Care Bears Palette so much I said screw it and purchased this! I’m surprised it’s still in stock to be honest!

Pixi + Hello Kitty Chrome Glow Palette $20
It’s Hello Kitty how can I say no? This contains nine shades with a soft lustre finish that can be used on eyes and face.

Essence Another Volume Mascara, Just Better! $4.99
As a Princess Mascara fan I figure I had to try this new mascara from Essence!

Essence Electric Glow Color Changing Lipstick $4.99
As a sucker for lip changing lipsticks I was on this.

Briogeo Superfoods Avocado + Kiwi Mega Moisture 3-in-1 Leave-In Spray $25
I absolutely love Be Gentle, Be Kind Avocado + Kiwi Mega Moisture Superfood Hair Mask so, of course, I want a conditioning leave-in spray to go along with it!

Covergirl All Over Dewy Tint $11
I decided to give these new All Over Tints a go! You can use these on eyes, lips and cheeks tint for a dewy and natural flush of color! Let’s see how it goes! I got the shade Cozy Coral!

Honest Beauty Lit Powder Blush $11
These are on sale during Ulta’s Summer Sale so I decided to grab two. I’m all about glow-y blushes lately so I have my fingers crossed these work!

Essence Pretty Natural Hydrating Foundation $4.89
This is been getting a bit of air time on Tiktok lately and you know me, I love a good natural foundation! We’ll see how this one goes!

Let me know

I had my best friend on Facetime a few days ago analyzing the sides of my face to determine if I’m seeing marionette lines or if I’m imagining them. His reply was, “Bells, you’re loco! I see nothing!” so, I had to jump in with my evidence board to explain what I was seeing on my face. The entire conversation went on for 90 minutes at which point he said, “I love you but bye!” and he hung up on me.
Grumble.
I had so much more to explain to him! What kind of friend is he anyway!?!?!
So, I’ll tell you guys.
I think I have marionette lines! And Tiktok sold me on those RoC Deep Wrinkle Retinol Patches. Damn you, Tiktok! Damn you to hell. Skincare is 20% off at target.com week which made me buy a pack of the RoC Deep Wrinkle Retinol Patches for my imaginary or probably REAL marionette lines and I also, grabbed a RoC Retinol Correxion Anti-Aging Retinol Moisturizer with Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid to go along with it.’
Apparently, one patch application will make finer lines and wrinkles more visibly plumped up! I’m not actually holding out hope for that here but I won’t mind if it did work. These have microneedles like the Skyn Iceland Dissolving Microneedle Eye Patches. You can wear them overnight if you want. They contain a mix of retinol, HA, and peptides.
I’m not holding out for a miracle but I’ll let you know how they work. By the way, now is a good time to try RoC Multi Correxion Hydrate + Plump with Hyaluronic Acid Collection! It’s part of the sale! The capsules and eye cream are a go for me.
P.S. In order to take advantage of the 20% off you first, have to pop skincare into your cart and a button will come saying there’s an offer available! Click it and it’ll let you apply a 20% off coupon to your cart for 20% off all skincare.
Enjoy!

Ladies and Lads! I’ve come to make my beauty confession today! Forgive me, beauty Gods for I have sinned it’s been two weeks, three days, and 16 hours since my last confession. I don’t know how to say this but after telling my friends here on Musings of a Muse that we should all go on a ban I went to the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale and came out of with a haul. My sense of guilt weights heavy on my soul today and I feel like I’m setting such a poor example for my friends. I feel some relief I didn’t technically haul any candles or hand soups (yeah, you caught my typo on Instagram didn’t ya you little buggers! These hands type a lot faster than my mind thinks).
What did I end up with?
Too much. I expected to get nothing to be honest as let’s be honest here the sale sucks. Or at least the one at my store did. They have two main floor displays at the very front of the stored lined up with the “retired” and “fan favorite fragrances as well as one that contains some of the new ones like Strawberry Soda and Cherry Limeaide. My store is split with White Barn on one side and Bath and Body Works on the other (most all the stores in my area are like this). I’m pretty late with the sale but there weren’t a lot of candles on sale that I wanted. I saw Cookies and Cereal and Salted Pretzel Milkshake but neither were on sale. There was also one huge area at the back that had a good deal of $3 hand soaps.
I ended up with:
I got misted and body lotions for all of the above. Strawberry Soda is pretty darn realistic! I was quite pleased with that.

What have you hauled so far during the Sephora Spring Savings Event? Did you treat yourself? I did an order early this morning but I am 100% positive I’ll be back for more!
Here’s what I grabbed so far!
Sol de Janeiro 16.9 oz Bum Bum Cream-I HAD TO HAVE THIS! I will smell amazing for the rest of my life with a jar this size!
Dior Dreamskin Fresh & Perfect Cushion Broad Spectrum SPF 50-My old cushion is running really low! It’s expensive but a favorite of mine so I indulged thanks to the sale! It’s a great one for a brighter complexion!
Paula’s Choice RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50-I’m also running low on this so, yeah, another stock up! It’s a great pick if you hate thick sunscreens! It’s really lightweight and breathable!
Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Riff and Fazed: Sue me, I’m boring! But these two matte shades look divine!
Paula’s Choice The UnScrub Gentle Cleansing Scrub: This is my first time trying this one! Any one have good thoughts on it? I can’t use my more harsher scrubs lately because I’ve been doing hard on acids and I needed something a bit more gentle just to whisk away old, flaky sin!
Tarte SEA Hydrocealer Concealer Brush-I should have gotten this during the Tarte sale but I forgot to add it to my cart. I’ve heard good things about it which makes me excited to try it!
Tower 28 Power Lip + Cheek Duo Set-The first thing in my cart this morning!
Topicals Like Butter Mask for Dry, Sensitive & Eczema-Prone Skin-Had to grab this because I totally suffer from dry skin!
I’m sure a second order is coming! I’m most excited to try that Topicals Mask! Everyone keeps raving it!
What do you buy?

Ok, it’s that time of the year again! The time of the year we admit to what we hauled on Black Friday and Cyber Monday because the deals were stupid good.
I was somewhat good up until the last minute when I did a few purchases I probably shouldn’t have! Like last like night, really late, I gave in and got the Colourpop Bare Necessities Eyeshadow Palette and the Good as Gold Eyeshadow Palette. I know I’m going to kick myself for the Good as Gold one because it has Pressed Glitters which I hate but it looks so very beautiful!
I also purchased the MAC Sprinkle Of Shine Set and of course, it’s on sale now with 15% off using code FRIEND. Great. Anyway, I don’t regret paying full price and may go in for a backup because the gorgeous highlighter might just be a nice replacement for my beloved Sweet Vision!
Don’t kill me but I got some hand soaps and candles from Bath & Body Works. I know I have a lot already but the deals were so good! I also got a back up of Merry Cookie because that scent is really becoming a fast favorite! And yes, I know Candle Day is Saturday BUT I paid around $10 each candle so, I don’t feel too bad.
I also got a restock on my Goodal Moisture Barrier Eye Cream since everything is 40% off at Riley Rose and Forever 21!
I also grabbed some Shape Tape Concealer from Ulta since it’s on sale!
The one area I did major damage was at the Barney NY sale. I hauled a few fragrances for myself because the prices were amazing!
And finally, got the Make Up For Ever Let’s Gold Eye Palette that was on sale at Sephora and a few Clarisonic Brush Heads from the Cyber Deals Selection!
I also picked up a few bits and bobs from Kiko Cosmetics as the sales over there were great for Black Friday and Cyber Monday!

So, there’s A LOT on sale during the Friendsgiving Event which ends tomorrow. You might want to check out my post here to see all the goodies on sale!
I got my free goodie bag plus $10 off my order with code SALE19 plus I used my points and it came to $5.40!

It feels like the countdown to Christmas has begun! It’s an exiting time, a fun one, but also, a really stressful one when you’re to find that perfect gift. Pre-Holiday shopping I admit I do treat myself to a pretty makeup bauble or two at Sephora. I feel like a little retail therapy on myself always makes shopping for others a little less stressful. As soon as November 1st rolls around I’ll start hunting out presents for my sister and soon after the rest of my family and friends.
In preparation for the busy season ahead I decided to treat myself to a few things I wanted that popped up at Sephora. Something for me, not something that I needed to purchase and blog about but something I wanted for myself. Those purchases always seem a little rare as the first thing entering my mind when I see something new pop up in the world of beauty is, “Do my readers want to hear a review about this?” Asking myself if I want it for me and only me comes much later down the line.
Of course, with the responsibility of sharing this little haul I also expect all of you to tell me just what it is you’ve treated yourself to recently! And give me a heads up about what’s on your Sephora Holiday Event wish list!
First off, I really needed those new Huda New Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes! Did anyone haul them? They are just as stunning in person as they are in promo pictures not to mention really quite affordable at $29 each! I got the Nude Rich and Nude Medium shades but not I’m sort of wanting Nude Light as well! I know we are all bracing for the Holidays but these are my ideal Fall shades! Beautiful wines, just turned coppery leave shades, they hold nine gorgeous shades that speak autumn to me. Plus both the Nude Rich and Nude Medium Palettes work easily together to create looks or individually! Stay tuned! I’ll have a full review and swatches up shortly.

Also, I recently reviewed it but I treated myself to the Hourglass Ghost Ambient Lighting Blush Palette. I love Ambient Lighting Powder but the blush I sort of have a love/hate relationship with! I recently reviewed it and was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. Full disclosure, the packaging sort of threw me for a curve ball but the blushes are gorgeous! Soft, silky, and without being overwhelming and give a pleasant flush to my cheeks!
And finally last but never least I’m on the hunt for the next greatest eye cream. Granted, I’m fairly happy with my eye potions and lotions I use at the moment but with Winter coming I’m all about digging up something bigger and better than ever. My search lead me to BiossanceSqualane + Marine Algae Eye Cream! Has anyone tried it? I’m in the early testing phases and so far it seems pretty good. Squalane is in everything at the moment thanks to its ability to hydrate and help to restore the skin’s natural moisture barrier. Most people recommendation squalane oil is best used over your regular moisturizer to seal in moisture but this eye cream has it built right in. We’ll see how it holds up against the cold New York winter!
I created this post in collaboration with Sephora but all the products I selected were of my own choosing and all the thoughts I shared are my own as well. Don’t forget to join Sephora’s Beauty Insider Rewards program especially with the Holiday season on the horizon as you don’t want to miss out on any beauty exclusives. As well as events where you can get 10 to 20% off your purchase. Last month, I partnered with Walmart to bring a selection of My Beauty and Makeup Essentials to you. At the time they asked me to partner and collaborate with them to tell my readers about their “Here for Every Beauty” campaign that celebrates over 327 different million faces that make up America. This is a paid sponsorship with them however, the thoughts and opinion I’m sharing are all my own. I selected to do the campaign because I truly believe that beauty is all inclusive and I’m happy to support a brand or in this case a store that also, feels that way.
I’ve always be of the belief that makeup and beauty is about all races, all sexes, ages, and sizes. Beauty is a world I’ve always felt comfortable and welcome in even though much of the marketing isn’t exactly targeted towards me. Why not? Because I’m short, I’m round, I’m geeky, goofy, clumsy, and just an all around nerd (I also think I’m rather hysterical but I’m probably not!). I’m not a model, I’m not 110 pounds, I don’t have cheek bones for days, I am not perfect yet I’m still felt pretty at home in the world of makeup because I can be whoever I want to be in it. I’ve never felt limited to how I can express myself using makeup and I like that the industry is finally catching up and starting to target people just like me.
The beauty world should never hinder any of us or make us feel excluded. It’s somewhere I feel like we can all dive into and enjoy no matter who we are. I’m glad that in the last few years, that the beauty world has opened further for many of us. More foundation choices, more models that aren’t perfect advertising products, both woman and man being represented in marketing, it really is a new and better frontier than ever before.
This is why I really love that Walmart is promoting a better makeup world with their Here for Every Beauty campaign. Because we should all feel positive and supported in the beauty world no matter who we are.
I did a recent Summer Makeup and Beauty Haul at Walmart and I thought I’d try some new items. Gasp! New!? What? Something I never tried before? How is that even possible for a beauty junkie? Believe me it was actually pretty easy to discover a few items I haven’t yet tried by following the #HereForEveryBeauty tag on Instagram. I just starting browsing the hashtag and seeing what everyone else was loving and I was surprised to see how many products people featured that I never tried. So, I made it my mission to not head into this haul purchasing stuff I already tried. I went outside my comfort zone and decided I try stuff I never thought to try before like dry shampoo. Believe me I typically wouldn’t touch dry shampoo with a ten foot pole because I’m that girl that has to wash her hair everyday even though that’s against some sort of hair rules. Sorry! I don’t feel clean if I don’t wash my hair everyday! Eep! But yup, I decided this Summer would be the Summer I tried dry shampoo!
Let’s see what I hauled!

It’s Summer which means a lot of pool time and a lot of hair problems because chlorine is a cruel goddess! My hair is fairly dry but put me in a pool and throw in some hot, humid weather and you got yourself some straw hair. Not good. Everyone on Instagram was talking about It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner Product and I never tried this so, I grabbed it up in the hopes it was as great as everyone was raving. I love leave-in conditioners which made this an easy pick! I actually like this a lot. It was created for dry, damaged hair and provides lightweight moisture that doesn’t cause build up. All you have to do is wash and conditioner your hair, dry with a towel, and mist a bit of this into your hair. Sometimes on the weekend after being in the pool we’ll head out for dinner so, I’ll just rinse my hair with cold water, dry it with a towel, mist this in, and comb through and go! It detangles and adds nice light moisture to my hair so as it air dries it doesn’t turn into straw!
Drum roll please! I also snagged some Batiste Dry Shampoo in the Tropical Fragrance! I am not a big dry shampoo fan girl because I tend to wash my hair twice a week and co-wash three times a week. I just can’t go into the shower without doing something to my hair. So, dry shampoo, that’s a big step for me. I loved this smelled! It’s all tropical vanilla yummy! But I don’t like using it to be honest! I tried going without washing my hair on Monday morning and just spraying some of this in and my hair just wasn’t having any of it. I looked like a poodle all day! So, I improvised a little with this and ended up liking it. After work I typically head out with friends or my boyfriend for dinner, a movie, or some other activity. I take down my hair before heading out and I mist some of this in and fluff it up. Not only does it refresh my hair because its been up in a bun all day but it also leaves it smelling quite nice! I like using it like this. It works a treat! Try it, you might like it!
Speaking of Summer hair products! SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo and Conditioner is a fav of mine! It smells just like a warm Tropical day! Sweet, slightly fruity, coconut and hibiscus gives your hair a gorgeous tropical scent! Plus they are sulfate-free! A great pick for Summer!
I never really talk hair but I felt like trying a few new products during this haul and hair is def a topic I don’t dry enough new things in!
But you’re here for the makeup right?
I have a few favs this Summer.

I just reviewed the new Maybelline Dream Urban Cover Flawless Coverage Foundation I just reviewed is amazing! Perfect Summer foundation in my opinion as it’s extremely lightweight, breathable, and oh so natural looking. This stuff is my skin but better in a tube! It’s new and available at Walmart cheaper than anywhere else at $10.98 (compared to competitors at $13.99). This is very worth a pick up if you like natural, sheerer foundation!
I’m also loving the new Revlon Super Lustrous The Gloss! Revlon has a lot of different formulas but this is one of my favorites to date. It’s thick but not sticky nor tacky with a nice sheer hint of color and a long-wear! It also feels quite hydrating on my lips. I have a review upcoming on these so stay tuned!
I also reviewed the Maybelline Matte Bar Eyeshadow Palette I purchased a few months and I’ve hauled it out for Summer looks because it is so freaking simple to get a great look from this palette in a few steps. I love these warmer shades for quickie Summer looks! You can snag it for $9 bucks at Walmart! It’s well worth being apart of your Summer haul!

Speaking of eyeshadow palettes the new Covergirl Her Majesty Eyeshadow Palette Collection is incredible. There are four palettes available each of which contains 12 creamy eyeshadows. The Revolution Eyeshadow Palette is an ideal pick for Summer as it contains some heated, sizzling shades perfect for the warm weather!

Summer skincare for me is always really light and simple. I tend to get a bit oily in the Summer and don’t need as much moisture as I typically would. Sometimes I even skip moisturizer in the morning and just do a quickie face mist after my shower followed by my SPF after it dries! Face mists have become pretty standard at the drugstore lately with many affordable options available like Garnier SkinActive Soothing Facial Mist.
Speaking of light and simple sometimes when I get out of the pool I just wash my face, moisturize and go. One of my latest moisturizer favs is L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Rosy Tone Moisturizer. This was recommended to me by many of you! It’s actually really great if you’re doing a no makeup and go look because it gives you that fresh just washed my face look with a nice lightweight, quick absorbing formula!

So, I gave in over the weekend and I hauled some of the Bath & Body Works Fall 2017 Collection despite the fact I told myself I wouldn’t. The damn coupons got me! 25% off and Buy 3, Get 3 seemed like a good deal at the time but I still somehow ended up spending $60 on next to nothing.
The new 6 oz Fragrance Mists seem like a trial-size for some reason. I guess I’ll wait for clearance to haul some more Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte because $13.50 for 6 oz is suddenly making me into a total cheapskate!
I did haul the new Whipped Body Butters and as I said in my Instagram post (if you missed it) I was surprised about the texture. It isn’t quite that whipped fluffy mousse consistency one would expect. It’s more like the Body Shop’s formula! It’s quite thick but it absorbs easily and isn’t sticky. But again, the price! Ouch on $18.50 each!
I also did one silly purchase, see more below!
I’m such a sad case because I had to get the cute apple antibacterial soap holder! I have last year’s Bath & Body Works Pumpkin PocketBac Holder that looks like a little orange!
This one holds a pocketbac and also doubles as a pencil sharpener. It’s a cute back to school pick up that might make your little one happier to keep their hands clean during the school day.

As for me, well, I’m not a kid obviously but I still needed to own this for whatever reason. Try not to judge me too harshly
I guess I don’t feel too crazy guilty for this haul but I have to admit the size and prices on some of the Fall items is a little bit of a put off.
Did you grab anything from the Bath & Body Works Fall 2017 Collection yet?

]]>Yes, I am that girl that set my alarm clock for 3:30AM so I could get up and attacked the Sephora Sale early. I was out pretty late last night as first I went to see Saturday Night Fever the Musical and after that I went to see Doctor Strange (Cumberb1tches shout at me!). So, I got it damn late! I’d like to thank micellar water for allowing me to crawl right into bed after a long day and night. I’d also like to thank my iPhone for waking me up in time to grab what I wanted for the sale. I’m not thanking Sephora because obviously you brushed up on your server skills this year and the site is working flawlessly which means I didn’t have to get up early to shop!
Anyway, the above slideshow (if you’re viewing via RSS or newsletter you’ll have to visit my site to see it) is a few of the goodies I picked up! I still have to shop presents for friends and family now but yeah, I totally spoiled myself!
This meme applies to me:

I’m reading all your comments this morning and gleefully rubbing my hands at everything you hauled. Want to invite me over so we can play with your hauls? And of course, you can come over and play with mine! Mmm that sounds weirder than it actually is!
Anyway, feel free to keep posting your hauls! I know some of you are being super bad and heading in for 2nd and 3rd orders
I have the “one for you, three for me” gifting mentality which means I keep filling my cart with gifts for my friends and family and adding something for myself as well.
