Who finished their Holiday Gift Shopping? I typically have everything done by the time December rolls around but this year I’ve been a LITTLE (a lot) behind. I’m still struggling hard on what to get my dad. My dad is a techy, politic-loving, news junkie, football (soccer) loving, outdoorsy, DIYer kinda of guy! Any gift ideas for me? I’m even struggling hard with my mom this year! At least my dad I know I’ll finally settle on something but my mom is so hard! She isn’t a beauty lover so that’s out (I dunno where I came from! I have several Lori Greiner Makeup Organizer I’ve purchased over the years and every single one was a great purchase for me simply because they are such elegant, statement pieces. I think makeup storage can occasionally get bulky and dare I say ugly once your stash gets larger in size. I yearn for the days when I was able to stash every single piece of makeup I own into a Caboodle. Those days are long since gone sadly. However, I have still hung on to many of my Lori Greiner Makeup Organizers and I keep many of my daily essentials in them.

If you have a special friend or family member (or yourself) whom you think might like an extra special way to hold her or his makeup this season you might want to check out the Deluxe Cosmetic Box with Mirror by Lori Greiner. I have a very slightly smaller size of this organizer in a light oak shade on my vanity (sadly, it’s not available in that shade anymore) which holds all my daily essentials. Closed it looks like a small cabinet but it swings open to reveal storage for up to 30 lipsticks, as well as six tiers to hold skincare, blushes, eyeshadow compacts, and more as well as a neat little area towards the back for brushes and a mirror too!

It’s actually a piece of furniture of sorts as the unit is very heavy and made very sturdy (yay for not having to struggle to put it together like the Helmer ugh!) It’s a little pricey at $79.98 but truly worth that money due to the craftsman ship of the unit.

Perhaps your mom or a sister or best friend loves makeup and you’d like to gift them with an elegant way to store their makeup! This is most definitely a lovely gift to indulge in! For yourself, or for someone else!

QVC is always the perfect spot for snagging great makeup and beauty gift sets at super prices! I do a lot of my bath, body, and skincare set hauls there during the Holidays (for myself mostly….!).

In recent years, I think QVC sort of slowed down their makeup and beauty roll. Some of their sets aren’t as good a deal as they used to be or the sets are fewer and less than in recent years. I’m actually surprised by this considering the beauty industry is on a bubble at the moment. You’d think more brands would start putting together gift sets and turning to the Q to sell them! But that’s actually not the case at all. It’s sort of odd that the situation is reversed as when the industry was doing a lot better, QVC was the spot to head to snag a deal! Now that the industry is doing a little poorer and the market is saturated so heavily with sales happen daily it seems to have become a little harder to snag a good deal on QVC.

But….!

The Holiday season is here (whether you are or aren’t ready for it! I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Fall has just been rushed away completely in stores!) and although not as plentiful as years past, QVC still has a killer deal or two on makeup and beauty gift sets. QVC makes it easy to shop from their site as well due to their easy pay options that will charge you a small amount each month versus paying the full amount in one go. It sort of works out as a little beauty mortgage as I call it!

My favorite part of Christmas is digging through my Christmas stocking to see what my sister filled it with. As you know tomorrow the Sephora Sale starts for Rouge Members and I know a lot of you are quite eager to pick out gifts for yourself and MAYBE for others! Maybe! 20% Off is a huge deal especially for luxury beauty brands as there are no exclusions during the sale and everything and anything is 20% off.

I thought I’d pick our some of my top fragrance gifts at Sephora and share them with you as if nothing else I am a massive lover of good fragrance. Add to the fact that Sephora puts together some fabulous fragrance gift sets this time of the year and has started carrying a ton of niche perfume brands and you have one happy girl here!

Do haul the Atelier Cologne Advent Calendar ($49) because after discount you’re paying around $40 bucks for this and being introduced to a slew of some Atelier’s fantastic fragrances plus you get to mark down the days until Christmas! The set includes 24 deluxe and sample size fragrances in some of Atelier’s most popular and greatest scents like Vanille Insensée (it is my favorite).

I don’t like perfume dabbers. I repeat I don’t like dabbers! But this Elizabeth and James A Little Bit of Nirvana Fragrance Collection ($48) is worth the haul to introduce yourself to these fine fragrances. Last year, they introduced two new scents that I absolutely adored and this coffret includes those as well as two others which allows you to try the complete collection of scents from the house.

If you’re wanting to experience Juliette Has a Gun this Discovery Kit is well worth the haul as it is merely $20 (less after the discount) and includes the new Sunny Side Up fragrance as well as 7 other scents including last year’s release that I loved Mmmm… There was a set released last year but this is a brand new round up of fragrances included. It’s a great way to introduce you to a fabulous niche brand.

I’ve reviewed and recommended the Commodity Storybook Fragrance Gift Set in the past and I still recommend getting it. It’s a wonderful, wonderful introduction to this niche fragrance house and a mere $30 (less after discount) that contains 15 different sprays that will introduce you to the fine art of cocktailing scents.

Ellis Brooklyn has arrived at Sephora! Bless be! And this Bibliotheca Fragrance Discovery Set is a good way to introduce yourself to this niche house. It includes six sample mists for $20 and is a wonderful way to experience Ellis Brooklyn without spending a ton of cash!

The Clean Six Piece Reserve Travel Spray Layering Collection ($48) contains six generously sized 0.17 oz fragrances that can be mixed and matched and experienced before indulging in a more expensive bottle from the Clean Reserve Collection.

Histories de Parfums The Discovery Collection ($20) is a great way to experience these fabulous niche fragrances. This is another of own favorite niche brands and considering bottles are over $100 each this set is a nice way to experience a sent before splurging big money for a full-size bottles. You get 10 x 0.07 oz mists to try in this set!

Half the fun of the Holidays is overflowing my sister’s stocking with cute little beauty bits and bobs. I’m always looking for smallish unique gifts, candies, and beauty items to stuff in her stocking. My sister is a little harder to buy for though because she likes beauty but she’s not a hardcore makeup user. Meaning she likes little stuff like hair care, basic makeup like mascara or blush sticks, and most importantly, my sister, like me, loves hand cream.

As a child I used to love when my sister purchased me all those “smart” “DIY” craft kits. Let’s see, I had a kit to create my own jewelry, I had a Fashion Plates, I had Shrinky Dinks (which were completely pointless but incredible to my feeble six year old self), so, yeah, you get the point….! I mean we all, at some point in our childhood, had some sort of do it yourself kit. I think the reason I don’t know how to cook today is because of the Easy Bake Oven!

Recently, I was at Barnes and Noble, I know right? Who goes to the book store anymore? I missed those days! Anyway, I was at the book store and I came across this All-Natural Lip Balm Boutique. I ended up buying it, but not for me. No really, it’s a gift. I picked it up for my little cousin in the hopes she’ll open it and require me to help her use it. Ahem…yeah, that’s a good excuse.

Someone is bound to comment and tell me how easy it is to make lip balms. People, I burn boiling water. Attempting to create lip balms might result in me burning down Manhattan. This kit contains molds, stickers, and everything else you need to create six beewax lip spheres.

Needless to say it looks terribly exciting. Is it odd I want one for myself? Apparently you have to buy essential oils separately to flavor the balms but that shouldn’t be a problem.

Wish me luck helping my cousin create these. I mean, I can’t blow up the house or anything with a melt and pour lip balm set right?
