First Brad Pit now Jared Leto! Jared Leto is launching a new “lifestyle brand” that’s called Twentynine Palms. One of the first launches from the brand will be a line of skincare.

I love me some Jared Leto! He will always be my Joker. So sorry about that if you hated him as Joker but I adored him. I also happen to love Thirty Seconds to Mars and remember seeing them for the first time in concert and fan-girling out at level ten thousand.

That being said…..I really don’t think we need expensive skincare from him. He’s qutoed as saying, “I’ve never been interested in beauty products, but I’m interested in the idea of taking care of ourselves in the most natural way possible.” Wait, Jared, this isn’t gonna turn into some weird Mila Kunis only shower every other month thing is it? I’m kidding and I guess I get what he means about wanting to ensure a line of products is as clean as possible. However, if you’re not interested in beauty why are you even doing this clean or not clean line of skincare?!??! That’s questionable, good Sir.

His new line of products will be housed in elegant violet-hued packaging that is environmentally friendly. From what I’ve seen prices range from $50-$100 which is considerably cheaper than Brad Pitt’s Le Domaine Skincare which starts at $100 and upwards to $385 per item.

But skincare is only the tip of the iceberg as Leto plans on releasing limited-edition home and design objects in collaboration with a rotating list of multidisciplinary creators. And fragrances that build on earthy aromatics with notes of smoky Japanese vetiver, eucalyptus, myrrh.

Honestly, it sounds incredibly pretentious and dare I say, “I’m a bored celebrity” eccentric. If you’re a Leto fan you know eccentricity is a specialty for him. I know, I sound like I’m hating but I’m really not. I just think the market is incredibly saturated and I do wonder who are the people jumping to buy skincare from Jared Leto and Brad Pitt.

Billie Eilish is set to launch an Eilish No. 2 Fragrance for the Holiday 2022 season! Eilish No.2 launches in mid-November Eilish No.2 on billieeilishfragrances.com just in time for gifting. As you know I fell in love with the original Eilish Perfume (read my review if you haven’t already). It’s a chocolate amber gourmand that blew me out of the water. It came as a shock and delight for a first time celebrity fragrance. I hate to say this but if we’re honest a lot of celebrity fragrances aren’t terribly unique but Billie really created something refreshingly interesting with her first fragrance launch and I’m all about how gorgeous it smells! It’s in my top rotation of Fall fragrances!

In a recent interview, Billie describes what Eilish No.2 will smell like without completely revealing the notes just yet. She said she wanted something that smelled dark, wet, gray, cold, and metallic-like. She also wanted it to be gender-fluid with notes of spice, pine needles, and pepper! But she also goes on the describe how her favorite scent smells like a sexy walk into the rain with a salty element and how she wanted to incorporate that into Eilish No.2. Hmmm…! That’s a lot of info but I can’t really pinpoint what it is I’d be smelling with all that going on!

I’m not sure if Eilish No.2 will be as warm, inviting, and delicious as the original fragrance. This time around it seems like Billie might be going a bit darker! I can’t wait to smell it.

So, yeah, this is a snarky post. Let me set this scene up for you before I dive into the snark.

I have a Yahoo E-mail account that’s 21 years old. Yup, 21 years. Anyway, I use that e-mail quite often and typically I’m checking it via desktop which means I pop yahoo.com into my url box and it whisks me away to Yahoo’s front page where I can click to access and check my email.

This typically means I’m exposed to the many, many, many clickbait articles featured on Yahoo’s front page and I hate to say this but they tend to enrage me. I’ve had to literally restrain myself lately as I’ve wanted to take my computer and toss it out the window every time I see a Jennifer Grey article promoted.

“Jennifer Grey says her mother told her to get a nose job!”

“Jennifer Grey says she and Patrick Swayze never got along!”

“Jennifer Grey was engaged to Matthew Broderick and Johnny Depp at the same time!”

“Jennifer Grey reported being forced to carry heavy watermelon on set”

So, Jennifer Grey has a book out at the moment and whoever her PR Team is they rock because she is literally featured on every online publication known to man.

I’ll be the one to say it. It’s annoying.

Eep! Sorry. Was that too harsh? It probably was. I just can’t take the clickbait headings anymore. They are incredibly irritating. I loved Dirty Dancing as much as the next person but this is some serious cash grab going on here because she starred in the film.

I think what’s getting to me the most is Patrick Swayze is long since gone. Let the man rest in peace. But he literally pops up in every article and how Jennifer Grey disliked working with him and how they didn’t get along, etc….etc…… Who even cares at this point? Dirty Dancing was 35 years ago! It’s over, done, the remake sucked, we feel good about the energy that was created in that film but please, stop talking about it to endorse your book.

Sometimes you need a little cute in your life and Sam Heughan and Drew Barrymore’s chemistry on her show was just too adorable not to share. Like many of you I’m an Outlander fan girl. I love the books, I love the show, ahem, I love Sam. I remember the first interview I saw with him. I was devastated he didn’t actually talk with a thick Scottish brogue. He almost sounded American….

I think I cried myself to sleep that night as I recall.

In all seriousness, Sam is actually cuter than Jamie can ever hope to be. He’s always such a delight in interviews and his shorter hair really does it for me. He was recently on Drew’s Talk Show (which is really cringe by the way) and I happened to catch a little of it and also, enjoyed the clip he posted on his Instagram. Full disclosure. Drew’s show is really annoying and cheugy to me. It just feels like she’s trying way too hard. I’m so sorry! I’m not being mean, just, Drew needs to take it down a notch maybe.

But this is the first interview I was delighted to watch with the two of them! The cries for “PLEASE DO A ROMCOM WITH SAM AND DREW!” touched my dark, black heart. I was totally up for jumping on that bandwagon! I’d love to see the two of them in a romantic comedy! Let’s do this thing! Can we start a GoFundMe to make it happen?

Possibly the best part was when they had a bagel tasting sesh and Sam turned to Drew and in a sexy, awkward say said, “Can I feed you?” Someone please don’t break my heart and tell me this was scripted. Just let me believe Sam is that cute in real life and I can happily expire.

I’ll be the first person to admit I love Chloë Grace Moretz. I think she’s incredibly elegant and a great actress. Her and Tyler Posey (pre-Only Fans) in Best Coast’s Our Deal video was totally swoon worthy. The rivalry between the Night Creepers and Day Trotters and Lucky and Veronica torn between the two gangs is reminiscent of a modern day Romeo and Juliet.

When Chloë teamed up SK-II a few years ago to promote Pitera Essence I was all about it. She’s such a fresh faced beauty that it seemed an ideal pick for promoting SK-II’s most popular, cult favorite essence. But oh god, the ads got so annoying. Between James Corden making an appearance in the ads and Chloë claiming all she needed was Pitera Essence things got annoying and fake fast.

But I can’t say I hate Martha Stewart waltzing in this month with Clé de Peau Beauté Tiktoks!

Martha has been endorsing Clé de Peau Beauté as a “good thing” in a bunch of ads on her Tiktok account lately and I really can’t say I hate the idea of her trying to sell me on Clé de Peau Beauté. I think what I find the most refreshing about the ads is the fact she isn’t really try to hide the fact they are ads. It’s obvious and out there and she knows it and embraces it.

If I weren’t already a fan of Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer I think Martha probably would have sold me on it. It’s not that the ads are good. They are actually crappy but it’s just knowing they are an ad that sort of makes you take note and listen a little bit more.

And for some reason, whatever reason that is, and however odd it is, I just sort of sit up and listen when Martha Stewart starts talking…..!

So, I guess I’m applauding you Clé de Peau Beauté on a good spokeswoman choice.

It’s a good thing.

The single most annoying thing about being a Who fan is when people find out you’re one and proceed to say, “Oh yeah! I really dig them too! That song Teenage Wasteland is epic!” And you’re either one of those people that doesn’t like to correct others and just sits nodding and smiling only to later slam your head on the table in front of you or you’re bold enough to defend your favorite band’s song and tell them, “I think you mean Baba O’Riley!” I typically hate correcting people so, I smile, grit my teeth, and do the slamming of the head later.

That bridge will forever alter the title of that song. Do they regret it as much as I do?

Speaking of Teenage Wasteland if you thought the new Billie Eilish Eilish Eau de Parfum was gonna smell like teenage wasteland, teen spirit, or teen angst you’d be wrong.

I think we can all say that Billie has is seriously talented and initially, we may have chalked her up as another disposable teen musician but in reality, she’s and her brother are incredible artists. That being said a fragrance from Billie came unexpectedly for me.

As alt as Billie is the idea of her sitting down and creating a “celeb fragrance” really threw me for a curveball. I do lump Billie into a more alternative personality. She’s different, doesn’t flow the normal flow of Hollywood and celebs, her music isn’t really mainstream, and I can’t really picture her to agreeing to do anything related to beauty.

But how wrong I am because here we are with a new Billie Eilish Perfume! Did you think that would happen? Because I didn’t.

And did you think it would get such ravings reviews? Because I didn’t.

Eilish Perfume initially launched back in December on a branded website and sold-out super fast and remained sold out for several weeks after the initial launch. Word on the street is this smells amazing! It’s an amber gourmand with many people saying it gives off a chocolate-y vanilla vibe.

It does contain an initial blast of mandarin and berries with sugary floral petals and a creamy vanilla heart with spices and cocoa with a woods, warm musk drydown. I haven’t smelled it yet but it’s likely going to be a blind buy for me shortly since it launched at ulta.com finally. You know I’m a lover of gourmands so, of course, I need to try this for myself.

I was being cheap and didn’t order this off the Eilish website because I didn’t want to pay shipping. It always does my head in that I’m willing to drop hundreds of dollars on luxury fragrances but ask me to spend $5.95 on shipping and I’m like, “Um no thanks!”

I’m very happy that it’s now at Ulta.

Expect a review soon of the new Billie Eilish Eilish Eau de Parfum.

I’m a supporter of deodorant. I like it, I wear it, I think it’s cool.

But of course, I’m all about live and let live. If you don’t like it nor wear it I’m cool with that.

What you do what your life is your business likewise for what you do what your body, totally up to you! But this whole you don’t need to shower until the dirt shows and I don’t need deodorant movement is squeaking me out a little bit. Celebs are just really letting things run wild in these articles about how they don’t shower until the dirt shows up. I dunno whether to be impressed about their honesty or just left feeling like I wouldn’t want to sit in a confined space with them.

I kind of like showering and I also happen to like deodorant! And let’s not get into the discussion about how much I LOVE perfume! We all know that story don’t we? If you don’t like those things I totally respect you for it however, I do like a good shower followed up with deo before I put my clothes on. I’ve been known to face the fiery pits of Mordor for my deodorant of choice! That’s how much I love a good deodorant!

A few weeks ago I posted an article about what my online crush smells like all in good fun and its made me incredibly anxious to post anymore articles about what people smell like…! I don’t think it went over big. You know me, I can be a Miss Sassy Pants in my posts here and not everyone appreciates my weird sense o’ humor. Remember, I’m totally nobody! Hell, I did an entire post about being nobody! If I say something that hurts you, angers, or pisses you off I swear you can totally take it all with a grain of salt as I’m just not that person that’s out to hurt anyone’s feelings or be rude. Please by all means call me out if you see me behaving badly.

I’m going to try this again even though I said I would never discuss what people smell like in another post! I’m a glutton for punishment aren’t I? But I know we ALL WANT TO KNOW what Matthew McConaughey smells like don’t we? He admitted years ago that he doesn’t wear deodorant and I was like, Matt, baby, what are you doing over there in the hot Texas sun banging away on your bongos with no deo! Things must be a little ripe.

Your wish is my command.

So, this is going to be a long story about how I fell in love with Bruce Boxleitner. You might want to grab a cup of tea, maybe a blanket, and snuggle down on the couch because it does lead into the new Dolly Parton Eau de Parfum somehow, someway! You know I like a good rambling story….!

I can’t really tell you what year it was but I think I was eight at the time and I happened upon a rerun of the Gambler on TV one day and I was riveted by it! As in glued to the TV screen! I mean, it really does deserved to be mentioned that I’m not much of a Western TV or movie kind of girl and I’m surely not one of those girls growing up hoping a cowboy would whisk her off her feet and we’d live happily ever after on a ranch somewhere. I’m the girl that was waiting for a Doctor in a little blue box to whisk her into a time vortex (particularly one that wore a long scarf or maybe a white pair of Converse or maybe a bow tie or maybe a celery stick tucked into his pocket….)!

Anyway, watching the Gambler brought about a lifelong love affair with Bruce Boxleitner. I’m not a blue-eyed, blond-haired kind of girl but Bruce had that certain raspy quality to his voice that really made my little eight-year-old heart go pitter-patter. Later on in life I watched reruns of Scarecrow and Mrs King and our relationship were solidified at that point and I knew we’d get married one day, have 2.5 children, live in a house with a picket fence, and I’d burn dinner every night while he was off being an International Super Spy only to come home to me and say, “It’s ok honey! I know you burn boiling water but I still love you!” Technically speaking I did hook up with a super geek, if not a super spy, and he tells me all the time, “It’s ok you burn boiling water we can order from Doordash!” So, essentially I did get my happily ever after. It just wasn’t with Bruce Boxleitner.

My love of Bruce somehow led me into watching weird Kenny Rogers movies and at the time I was somehow under the assumption he and Dolly Parton were a married couple since she was in every single movie I watched with him. My eight-year-old brain didn’t understand the relationship they had going on in movies didn’t actually translate to real life. YEARS and I seriously mean YEARS later I was told they weren’t married and where in the world did I get that idea?! Needless to say I felt a little heartbroken. They just seemed the perfect couple….

So, yeah, Bruce, actually introduced me to Dolly on some level.

My taste in music is eclectic and maybe extreme in some cases. From Madam Butterfly to Rammstein to Pink Floyd to Broadway Show Tunes to Kermit the Frog singing the Rainbow Connection to In This Moment…my play list of music is everywhere but somewhere in between all that there was always a Dolly Parton tune to be had. I belt out Jolene like a champion in the shower.

Earlier this Summer Dolly introduced her first fragrance to the world. And this became an epic event! I think it’s because Dolly somehow became as epic and iconic as Betty White. She represented the light side, the good in people, she reminded us we should be nice and humble…during the Pandemic she was somehow the poster girl for hope in humanity and reminded us all, “WE GOT THIS!”

I was excited to see her fragrance launch on HSN.com recently and yes, I did buy a bottle. I’m not much of a celeb fragrance fan but over the years I’ve come to love a few and I gotta admit Dolly’s perfume really does spark joy. I can’t quite put my finger on it but it does smell like something I already own! I wasn’t sure I’d like it but it actually smells wonderful. The notes are mandarin, peony blossoms, jasmine, vanilla, sandalwood, musk and patchouli. It’s a slightly sweet, unaggressive, pretty little floral scent!

I’m glad I purchased it! I’ll have a review it soon! Excited to hear about it?

Wondering which celebrity is jumping into beauty world next? There may be a Scarlett Johansson Makeup and Beauty Collection coming our way soon. According to WWD the actress will release an unnamed beauty line early in 2022.

“I’ve been fascinated by the transformative power of beauty since I was a child. My mother instilled in me a passion for self care from my early teenage years. Several years ago, I took a step back from my beauty deals with the goal of creating something true to me. The result is a clean, accessible approach to beauty,” Johansson said in a statement.

Najafi Companies is providing funds for the collection with a smallish budget of 5 to 10 million dollars. It’s pretty much a disposable line at that level of investment in my opinion. Cheaper to make, perhaps higher to sell. We’ll have to see though! I expect something elegant from Scarlett but it may be more along the lines of what we’ve seen from Selena and her Rare Beauty Collection.

The overly saturated market apparently isn’t something her investors are fearing as they expect to grow and expand the line.

I’ve reached a point in my makeup and beauty life that very few things surprise or intrigue me. Scarlett is going to really have to do some major work on this brand to wow me. I don’t hate on Selena at all and I think Rare Beauty is a rather gorgeous line of products but does it knock my socks off? No. Likewise, for Jennifer Lopez’s new skincare line and the endless other celebrities that are apparently really interested in getting into the beauty world at the moment.

As much as we’d all like to think it’s ages to late to jump into something like this the numbers don’t lie and makeup, fragrance, and particularly skincare is still a thriving market.

Let’s hope Scarlett Johansson’s Makeup line brings us something exciting!

The beauty airwaves are alive with the news that Harry Styles is coming our with a makeup and fragrance collection soon According to reports Harry has allegedly filed a trademark under the “wholesale of perfume and cosmetics” category. Harry’s name is listed as well as Emma Spring, his former personal assistant.

One Direction had a few fragrances several years ago if you recall.

There are some hardcore One Direction fans out there and many of them love Harry Styles so this might just take off. We have no way of knowing if and when this will happen. Filing a trademark is just the very first baby step in launching a full-on beauty brand. This could be a year or two down the road or it may not even happen at all.

I do know I’m somewhat shocked celebrities have jumped on board with beauty lately as the bubble really has broken and now seems like the worst time to become involved with a beauty brand. But it doesn’t seem to stop celebs like Selena Gomez, J-Lo, Halsey, and more from launching beauty brands.

2020-2021 has definitely been the year of the celeb beauty take over.

Max Factor moved out of US market in 2006 and the original Pan Stick was replaced with Facefinity All Day Matte Panstik which is available in a slew of shades. If you’re yearning for yesterday year though it’s still sold at Vermont County Store. I picture Dolly browsing through the Vermont Country Store Catalog and picking up her vintage makeup from them.

At the moment it’s actually sold out and I’m not really sure who would want it since it only comes in three shades and the matte finish is likely dry AF but I know it’s a formula that has a special place in makeup lover’s hearts. So, now you know, the original Max Factor Pan Stick is alive and kicking and Dolly loves it still!

Yahoo posted a recent phot of Sophie Turner at New York Comic Con where she’s wearing this rusty matte eyeshadow all over her eyes! I must have it! What is it? I probably wouldn’t bring it up as high as her makeup artist did as I’d look rather dumb with a shade like that all over my lid and well past my crease but I do so love the looks of the shade and can def make it work with my brown eyes.

A few picks that come to mind would be all some of the delightful shades in the Maybelline the Matte Bar Eyeshadow Palette. I just purchased a backup of this palette when I was at Harmons a few days ago! I sincerely do not want to be without it. It has such great shades and for some reason I’m liking it way more than Urban Decay’s Naked Petite Heat!

Next up, maybe a little Holika Holika Piece Matching Shadow Matte? These are not only super cheap but they have so many great dune and rusty shades that accent my brown eyes beautifully!

Gwen Stefani is the new face of Revlon for 2017! Gwen is no stranger to the makeup world as last year she teamed up with Urban Decay to create her own collection that included lipsticks, an eyeshadow palette, and a blush palette. I didn’t expect to see her in the makeup world so soon again but I couldn’t be more excited about her partnership with Revlon as her iconic red lips and winged eyeliner are definitely on my makeup goals bucket list.

Gwen’s expressed her love of makeup on more than one occasion so, it’s fitting she’s pursuing that with another collaboration although I wouldn’t mind seeing her do a makeup collection all her own.

I think most people will expect some sort of special edition packaging with this collaboration but don’t set your hopes too high. Revlon has had their share of popular celebrity ambassadors including the stunning Halle Berry and one have done anything other than promote new seasonal collections and permanent products. Gwen will likely do much the same.

I’m holding onto Summer with a little help from Jennifer Aniston Beachscape Perfume. Beachscape is Jennifer’s 4th fragrance and it released earlier this Summer and is an ideal pick up for those of you wanting to hold on to those last precious days of Summer.

I don’t really like beach-y scents but Jennifer Aniston has a way of creating a beach fragrance that really captures the essence of a day at the beach without overpowering the wearer. I absolutely adore Jennifer’s prior fragrance, Dusk. This captured the end of a long, enjoyable day at the beach perfectly. If Dusk, is the end of a beautiful day the beach, surely, Beachscape is the start of one.

The fragrance starts out with a soothing and very relaxing aquatic note. It’s very spa-like to me as the sea notes are soothing, relaxing, and very light. As the fragrance sets you’ll find a melody of wildflowers lightly mingles with the aquatic notes and woodsy base offers a little warmth. It’s a sensory journey because it starts out with a cool day at the beach vibe. Think of a cool slightly warming breeze blowing in from the ocean followed by a tropical element courtesy the wildflowers that pops up and play in the distance. Those wildflowers bring me to Hawaii where the sands are warm on your feet and the cool breeze is blowing in your face while lush greenery and flowers are behind you surrounding the beach.

Dusk is one of my favorite’s from Jennifer’s Collection but Beachscape comes a very close second. It’s light, feminine, and very relaxing! The notes are not intrusive and very soothing making them an ideal pick for daily wear or even for wear in a close office environment since the fragrance isn’t bold or overpowering.

If you’re wanting to hang onto to the last days of Summer, allow Beachscape to help you to do! This is a gorgeous and wearable beach-y scent for everyone even for those of us that aren’t really aquatic beachy fragrance fans.
