The Lorac Holiday 2022 has arrived and it’s 15% off at macys.com today with code FRIEND. This excited me but I recently saw a Tiktok with a girl who said “Who are buying these beauty brands?!” and Lorac was on it. I was like, WHAT? Lorac is cool! Or at least, I think it’s cool. Am I wrong? This girl was all, “Who the hell buys Lorac? Did anyone ever buy it?” and I was like, “but but but what about the Unzipped craze?” I mean, Lorac had some really good times back in the day.
I feel a little sad about this because I actually still enjoy Lorac. They have a very solid eyeshadow formula. So yeah, when I saw some new Holiday Sets pop up I got pretty happy about that.
Lorac Holy Soleil Set (On Sale for $29)
Includes PRO Palette Soleil with 18 eyeshadows and a full-size Holy Lash Volumizing Mascara.

Lorac Mystic Gaze Set (On Sale for $21)

Lorac Dewy Canvas Prep Moisturizer + Primer ($35) has joined the ranks of moisturizer primers and it looks like pretty interesting. This is a lightweight gel-cream that gives skin an airbrushed, dewy finish. Hydrating shea butter, Squalane, glycerin, and Sodium Hyaluronate. It actually sounds a lot like my beloved Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Icy Sherbet Primer but I’m still wanting to check this out!
The formula also includes and Jade Mineral Powder that acts to smooth lines, blur pores, and perfect skin. It’s completely fragrance-free as well! According to Lorac you can use it to prime for makeup or use is a moisturizer.
Lorac Dewy Canvas Prep Moisturizer + Primer is available now at Ulta!

It feels like ages since Lorac started promoting their Summer 2020 Collection on Instagram and it’s just now available at Ulta. I’m so sorry but I find it so annoying when brands release on their website exclusively first. It drives me bonkers for some reason. They’ve been promoting Summer 2020 for well over a month now but I was never once tempted to purchase it from their website. I dunno why but I rebel at the idea of being forced to purchase something from just one location. Maybe I want to get points for my purchase from Ulta or I just want to haul other items when I haul Lorac. I dunno what it is but the fact that so many brands do this later drives me up a wall.
When you launch please just launch it everywhere the same time, the same date, and the same products. I don’t like the Easter Egg hunt of different launch dates, different places to buy it, and exclusive parts of a collection available at one retailer but not another. It’s all too much work. Please stop.
I was interesting in the Sunset LUX Diamond Eye Gloss Trio but do I even care about purchasing it anymore?
Here’s the deets on Lorac Summer 2020 that may or may not still tempt you!
Lorac Sunset LUX Diamond Eye Gloss Trio $23
A selection of gel-cream eye glosses with a high pigmented formula and a diamond-like sparkle! This set includes three shades inspired by the sunset.

Lorac Sunrise LUX Diamond Eye Gloss Trio $23
A selection of gel-cream eye glosses with a high pigmented formula and a diamond-like sparkle! This set includes three shades inspired by the sunrise.

Lorac LUX Diamond Golden Hour Face Palette $35
A palette that includes six limited edition shades inspired by the golden rays of warm light

Shades:
Lorac LUX Diamond Lip Gloss $19 (Available in 10 Shades)
A lipgloss formula that’s infused with 100% authentic, sustainably-sourced, finely milled diamond powder for multi-dimensional shine without the grittiness!

Rachel Zoe x Lorac Hollywood Glamour Mini Palette in Effortless Glamour is one of six new mini 6-pan eyeshadow palettes that launched in collaboration with fashion designer Rachel Zoe for the Holiday 2019 season. These are extremely affordable little eyeshadow palettes that are $15 each. Ulta got two of the palettes and the remaining four are available on Lorac’s website.
As you may know Lorac was sold to Markwins Beauty in 2018 which is also the parent company of Physicians Formula and Bonne Bell. I haven’t seen any bad reaction to the Markwins take over of Lorac. We didn’t get a Pro Palette this year but as they say the night is still young and that could be coming down the pipeline!
This palette is Made in China where as before many Lorac Palettes were Made in the USA. Markwins does appear on the PETA cruelty-free list but I didn’t notice a leaping bunny logo on the box. People do have concerns with makeup that is made in China regardless of the cruelty-free status. I personally have no issues with makeup Made in China and have used it from a variety of brands in the past without issue. However, one thing that is notable about anything Made in China is the quality can be considerably different compared to products made in the US or within Europe.
That being said, on with the review!

Rachel Zoe x Lorac Hollywood Glamour Mini Palette is pretty tiny. It’s just the size of a business card with a nice mirror inside and six eyeshadows that are 0.0425 oz for a total of 0.17 oz. It’s a really cute palette that will travel very easily with you or store away without taking a ton of space. I put it right next to the an Urban Decay Lipstick for size comparison. The eyeshadows are all named but they names are not printed anywhere on the palette but instead are on a clear film insert.

The palette contains five eyeshadows and one pressed glitter. There are no warnings about using the pressed glitter shade around your eyes or whether or not it is eye safe. It’s a chunky glitter suspended in a gel-like base making it easy to pat on however, I don’t recommend using it near your eyes due the the larger glitter chunks which can be a danger to your eyes. I would have appreciated some warnings about the pressed glitter but I searched both on the palette and on the box and saw no such warning. The gold is so pretty and goes so well with the other shades it’s a shame that I can’t use it but I’m a little scared to use it. Glitter Glue might be helpful if you do decide to risk it! I’m absolutely in love with this palette but I could have definitely done without the glitter!
These shadows are not quite like Lorac’s typically powdery, silky eyeshadows. They have firmer texture with a lot less powdery kick up but they still have a gorgeous buttery feel that apply and blend easily. I’d go so far as to call them creamy! There are two mattes here, one satiny metallic, one shimmer, and one satiny shimmer. There’s absolutely no fall out with the satins nor but I did experience a little fall out with one of my favorite shades in the palette which is Champagne. Oh my gosh I love this shade. It has a light almost creamy texture (it is a powder though)! You can apply it easily with a fingertip if you like! It creates a really ethereal glow on my lids and makes for a nice nude eye that you can accent with a darker shade at the outer v of the eye. I’m also a lover of the reddish brown shade called Amaranth! The golden brown hue of Chiffon is equally lovely.

Rachel Zoe x Lorac Hollywood Glamour Mini Palette Swatches (Sepia, Amaranth, Gold Sequins)

Rachel Zoe x Lorac Hollywood Glamour Mini Palette Swatches (Champagne, Chiffon, Blush)

I swear this palette was so made for me. I was very pleased with the texture, performance, pigment, and shade selection in this tiny little palette! It’s made me want to try the other five in the collection. Lorac, you nailed it with this little guy! I’ll be purchasing more of these for sure!
Rachel Zoe x Lorac Hollywood Glamour Mini Palette are available now at Ulta and on Lorac’s website.

I went palette called Effortless Glamour and that’s exactly what it is! A really effortless, easy to use palette with a gorgeous selection of pigmented, buttery textured eyeshadows that blend and apply like a dream. There wasn’t one bad shade here!
Rachel Zoe x Lorac Hollywood Glamour Mini Palette is a super affordable eyeshadow palette that will be best loved by fans of the brand’s fantastic eyeshadow formula!

Lorac x Rachel Zoe for Holiday 2019 arrives today with an early look at the collaboration between the fashion designer and the brand. Lorac’s Instagram shows four shades of a Rachael Zoe x Lorac Hollywood Glamour Mini Eyeshadow Palette that includes six eyeshadows each. Ulta.com got one of these palettes so far and it’s priced at a very reasonable $15. This shade is called Effortless Glamour but as I said there are three other palettes! I’m not sure if those palettes will be exclusive to Lorac’s website or launching on Ulta at some point or maybe at Kohl’s and HSN. We’ll have to wait and see!
This quite a different collection for Lorac as around the Holidays they tend to release one of their mega palettes. I tend to look forward to those as their eyeshadows are so soft and silky! Powdery, yes, but still super silky! I also, love their lipgloss sets! They are always on my Christmas wish list.
Anyway, this is the initial launch for Lorac x Rachel Zoe. There should be more items to follow including a new sparkling highlighter but now let’s see what Ulta has for us today!
Rachel Zoe x Lorac Alter Ego Golden Era Lip Set $18
A new, limited edition set that includes a full-size lipliner, Alter Ego Lipgloss, and Alter Ego Lipstick in a new shade of beigey-pink nude.

Lorac Lux Diamond Eyeshadow Palette and Lorac Lux Diamond Creme Eyeshadow launched at ulta.com just in time to create some sparkly Summer eye looks (and some Fall 2019 ones too!). You know me, I eat sparkle for breakfast in the morning! I do some love a sparkly eye look and I’m curious how well Lorac does at giving me one as I always hold Lorac up to being the standard of matte eyeshadow! They are part of the reason I enjoy mattes as the formula on the Lorac line of eyeshadows is smooth, buttery, and oh so silky! It’s a loosely pressed eyeshadow so, it isn’t one everyone loves but I adore their eyeshadows. But typically, they are more about satiny shimmers or mattes. The new Lux Diamond Palette actually appears to have pressed glittered!
Let’s take a look!
Lorac LUX Diamond Palette $39
20 eyeshadows that are matte and metallic shimmer in finish! The new diamond shine formula contains 100% certified authentic diamonds milled into a fine, cosmetic-grade dust and infused into a luxurious eye shadow formula
Shades:
Lorac LUX Diamond Creme Eyeshadow $22
A new crease-free cream eyeshadow that has an ultra-pigmented metallic finish that has a 100% certified authentic diamonds milled into a fine, cosmetic-grade dust for superior brilliance. .

I really want to try the cream eyeshadows! They look gorgeous!

Lorac TANtalizer Hustle and Glow Baked Bronze and Highlight Palette launched at Ulta.com today and it would make the sun gods sing in joy! I’m not much of a bronzer girl but I need this highlighter in my life ASAP.
I actually have some of Lorac’s older baked highlighters and bronzers from back in the day that I’ve almost hit pan on. I was so happy to see them re-release some of these beloved favorites in one palette. The palette features four shades two of which are matte and two are shimmer. All four are baked giving them that soft, light, silky formula. I dunno why but I’ve always loved this formula! It adds warmth but not muddiness and the highlighter always gives me that golden tanned look which I don’t always adore but on a warm Summer night out it’s a look I love doing!
This is one I’m picking up for sure.
Also available, is Lorac’s new TANtalizer Glow and Behold Shimmering Face and Body Dry Oil! This is a lightweight dry oil that’s formulated with shea butter, grapeseed, jojoba, sesame, and safflower oils to hydrate and add a warm, delicate shimmer to your face, legs, arms, and body!

More neon coming your way for Summer 2019 with the new Lorac Neon Lights PRO Pressed Pigments Eyeshadow Palette. I swear all these neons are bring back damn good memories! Pop beads, charm necklaces, Rainbow Brite, the 80s vibes are real up in here.
Lorac isn’t exactly known for brightens but these 10 shades are bold, bright, and packed with pigment in matte and shimmer finishes! No word on if they are eye safe or not but since it’s labeled an “eyeshadow palette” let’s hope we can safely use them on eyes without any staining!
I have to admit I’m not a big, big fan of the primary color range most of these palettes use though! If I’m going for neon I like the brighter pinks and greens I’m seeing from Huda Beauty’s new range of Neon Obsessions Palettes but not so much big bold blues, whites, yellows, and pinks. I just feel like those shades are a little more difficult to create a look you know?
What are your ideal neon shades?
Lorac Neon Lights PRO Pressed Pigments Eyeshadow is $29 and available now.
Will you be indulging?

Lorac Unzipped Sheer Silk Lipgloss ($18) are a new lipgloss that launched with the Lorac Spring 2019 along with three new Unzipped Eyeshadow Palettes.
I get on pretty well with Lorac Lipgloss and really like their Alter Ego Lipgloss formula as well as the many, many seasonal lipgloss sets they do which are such a great value.
When they launched four shades of this new Unzipped Sheer Silk Lipgloss it was tempting to purchase all the shades because I knew the formula would be great not to mention I was really like the nude, natural shades. The only thing that prevented me from indulging was “sheer” in the title. How sheer?
Pretty sheer sadly. Darn it! This is such a beautiful formula but I do so wish it had a touch more pigment!

Lorac Unzipped Sheer Silk Lipgloss is 0.13 oz in size and $18 per shade. It arrives in Lorac’s standard lipgloss packaging but has a rose gold cap. I love the packaging as I love rose gold anything.
I haven’t seen the colors in person as of yet and I do hope some of the others are more pigmented than the color I selected. I got Unfazed which is a peachy bronze nude with very fine gold shimmer. It’s a stunning color and it actually looks amazing if you use it on top of a nude lipstick but on its own it does lack pigment even when you build it up. There’s another shade called Buff which looks deeper in promo images which I’m going to try to check out at Ulta as I’m really liking this formula.
As with most Lorac Lipgloss formulas, Unzipped Sheer Silk Lipgloss doesn’t disappoint! It’s a well formulated lipgloss formula and the lack of pigment is the only issue with it. This formula has a light, gel-like texture with a lightweight formula. I didn’t feel like it was too thick nor sticky or tacky. It feels pleasantly hydrating on my lips and quite weightless. It wears for about two hours and during that time didn’t move around or migrate to my upper or lower lip line. The gloss does have a light minty flavor but I didn’t detect any fragrance.

As I said it does lack pigment but you can add a few layers and get a very mild hint of tint on lips with some a pretty gold sheen from the shimmer. It’s a gloss that will accent a nude lipstick or tint but doesn’t have much oomph worn alone!
Lorac Unzipped Sheer Silk Lipgloss nailed the formula but I do find myself wishing it had more pigment which makes this an expensive pick up!
Lorac Unzipped Sheer Silk Lipgloss is a new lightweight, sheer lipgloss that released in four shade selections for Spring 2019 that’s 0.13 oz in size and $18 per shade. This formula is great! Lightweight, not sticky nor tacky, and lightly hydrating with a smooth shiny finish. Sadly, it does wear for a shorter time and the pigment is lacking in a major way.
Lorac Unzipped Sheer Silk Lipgloss is a perfect pick for those who like Lorac’s lipgloss formula! This doesn’t disappoint formula and texture wise (but does sadly lack pigment).

Lorac PRO Hi-Res Lip & Cheek Powder ($19) arrives on the scene for the Spring/Summer 2018 season in six shade selections. Remember all that chatter we had about Covergirl’s long gone but clearly not forgotten Lip Powder? Basically that’s seems to be where Lorac is headed with the new PRO Hi-Res Lip & Cheek Powder formula.
This little guys arrives in a pen applicator with an attached sponge and the formula is a lightweight powder which Lorac promises has a ton of great pigment. You can swipe on your lips and relive your Covergirl Lip Powder days or blend it on your cheeks for an instant pop of color. You see, you could never multitask with Covergirl’s formula so Lorac has one up on them!
I dunno how I feel about this. On some level I’m always so excited when lip powder creeps back into my makeup world because it’s sort like the one product I remember being obsessed with as a budding beauty addict. But on the other hand, I always worry about how dry it might be on my already drier lips. I’m not so sure how I feel about the multitasking abilities either because it would seem rather hard to apply it as a blush in this packaging.
Regardless, I’m all about trying that’s for sure. Remember those old Lorac Cheek Stamp Blushes? I’m thinking of PRO Hi-Res Lip & Cheek Palette as the new version in a smaller packaging maybe that will help my anxiety about applicatin!
