I spent $125 on Goop Goopglow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator and honestly I have no regrets. Sometimes you have to indulge in expensive skincare! I purchased this on a whim a few months ago when the Pandemic was raging around New York and I was feeling like I needed to buy every single piece of skincare on the planet. Some people were scrambling to hoard away toilet paper but I was over here like “WE NEED MORE FACE MASKS! WE NEED MORE MOISTURIZER! WE NEED MORE LEGOS!” That last part is true…!

So, I am very happy with my holy grail Dr. Denese Firming Facial Microdermabrasion Cream which I recommend to anyone and everything but Goop Goopglow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator caught me at a weak moment in my skincare life. I mean, the fact that I purchased anything Goop is pretty funny because come on, we all associate Goop with some of the weirdest beauty ideas. I respect Gwyneth’s drip but I don’t always agree with it. Her ideas of beauty are always a little new age and unusual. Threading facials, detox baths, apitherapy, there’s a lot of “unique” beauty treatments that pop on Goop’s website.

At the time this was offered in a single 1.7 oz size for $125 but they now have a 0.5 oz for $42 if you just wanna test the waters out.

After using this for several months (I started in April) I can honestly say I’d repurchase this again (and I actually did during the Sephora Sale). I like it. A lot. It’s has the effects of a chemical peel in a physical exfoliating formula. It’s actually really, really interesting in the fact I can get away with using this two or even three times a week without having an issue with dryness. Trust me, there’s such a thing as over exfoliating your skin and it has the opposite effect of drying your skin out versus smoothing it. This formula contains squalane so that could account for the fact it doesn’t make me tight or dry after use. It also contains Glycolic Acid.

It has a light, fluffy consistency with a fine grainy texture and has a light lemony scent although there is no fragrance listed in the ingredients.

You can use this as a simple facial scrub or you can use it a a scrub slash mask. I tend to use it as a scrub mask combo. I wet my face, gently massage it in, leave it on for several minutes, and gently massage it off as I rinse. And miracles happen whole angels sing in the background after that final rinse. This provides instant and visible results. Skin is smoother, it feels firmer, and my entire complexion is brighter and more even. Seriously, this takes like 20 years off my face. I had a small dark spot on my cheek bone and this has complete eliminated that spot. It’s gone!

I love how bright my skin looks after using this. It’s become a staple product. Don’t get me wrong I still love my Dr Denese! She’s my number one girl! But Goop’s Goopglow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator gets a big Muse Approval. I love this stuff and will continue to buy and use it. And I may just love it a little more than Dr. Denese Firming Facial Microdermabrasion Cream but don’t tell anyone.
