Ciate Missy Piggy Collection is a new makeup launch that the brand collaborated with Disney to create! As you know last year, Ciate also did a Jessica Rabbit Collection which everyone swooned over as well! I swear as soon as I seen this I instantly though of Missy Piggy working behind a makeup counter with Joan Rivers! That was like thee most epic scene in Muppet history and as someone who has such a heavy hand with makeup I can soooo relate!

You might remember that there was a MAC Miss Piggy Collection way back in the day! It was pretty small but at the time when collaborations like this weren’t really a thing it was sort of exciting!

Last year, Jessica Rabbit’s Collection sort of came out in two parts and I have a feeling that they might do the same with Miss Piggy’s. Right now they have a blush palette, two lipsticks, and a few other items but no eyeshadow palette! Am I wrong to think they might launch an eyeshadow palette later on? We’ll have to wait and see.

Ciate Jessica Rabbit Makeup Collection didn’t go over well but I’m still excited about the new Jessica Rabbit Multi-Glow Face & Body Highlighter and Jessica Rabbit Compact Mirror for Holiday 2019.

People, I did not hesitate to order both immediately. I need another compact mirror like I need a whole in the head but this is so cute! The Jessica Rabbit Compact Mirror is $25 is dual-sided compact mirror that has a regular mirror on one side and a magnifying on the other! The mirror is silver with a light rose gold 3D print of Jessica’s gorgeous face on the front.

The other exciting piece in this launch is the Ciate Jessica Rabbit Multi-Glow Face & Body Highlighter ($36) is just too cute to use! Featuring Jessica’s gorgeous cameo printed on the powder and a Roger Rabbit puff to apply. This is a HUGE highlighter! It’s 0.60 oz in size. The powder has ultra-fine pearls and light reflective pigment that contains three complimenting universal shades that can be swirled together to create a luminous glow.

Sadly, the original Ciate Jessica Rabbit Collection was a bit disappointing so, I have high hopes that these two new items are better! I’m particularly eager about the mirror! It looks adorable.

Ciate London Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer ($28) is a new hydrating facial primer gel that launched about two weeks ago on Sephora. I picked this up immediately because I loved the sound of it. It apparently acts to prime, hydrate, and brighten your complexion and skin while helping your foundation to wear longer. There’s a lot of these new super hydrating primers that “grip” foundation which have become available lately like Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer and It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Makeup Primer.

My skin loves these releases as I’m drier and anything hydrating I’m all about. My go to has definitely become Milk Makeup’s Hydro Grip but I’ve tucked it away recently as it feels a little much for Summer weather. Likewise, for this Ciate London Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer! Although, it only launched and it is a Summer release I think this will be perfect for Winter wearing when my skin is much more drier than it currently is.

Ciate London Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer arrives in a squeeze tube that has a built in pump. It’s 1.35 oz in size and retails for $28. The packaging slays me! I love pink and I adored to pink metallic ombre box it arrives in. The actual primer is also pink and dotted these small black beads that Ciate calls “watermelon extract droplets”.

First and first most, this is formulated with water and glycerin as two of the very top ingredients. Although marketed as containing Watermelon Extract and Hyaluronic Acid those are lower on the list sadly. Also, the brightening power of Niacinamide is here but again, lower on the list. It does contain alcohol and fragrance as well as witch hazel and limonene just to make a few of the worst ingredients. It’s a give or take situation here with what is and isn’t good in the formula. On the upside it is completely silicone-free.

The formula is a lightweight gel that smells like a brand new Sanrio Eraser! It’s a yummy, sweet watermelon scent that has a little bit of eraser smell going on. If you’re a Hello Kitty fan you’ll totally get what I mean! It sort of smells like Sanrio Erasers or Sanrio Gum! I loved it but sensitive users will hate it.

Once you pump the gel out you’ll likely get one or two of those “watermelon extract droplets” but they pretty “burst” as promise and absorb easily into skin. Don’t worry, they aren’t sitting around on top of your skin. Now please, take note of my advise! A little goes a long way. I repeat! A little goes a long way. This stuff is really, really slick and slippery! It absorbs fast but it leaves skin dewy to the touch. I made the mistake of doing two pumps and I only really needed one. It’s potent. It really hydrates well and a little bit goes a very long way at hydrating skin. I’d even go so far as to say it made me feel a bit oily and shiny. I think the good news is if you have matte foundations hanging around this is the primer you’ll want to use with those as this stuff really, really eases the application of foundation and makes things go on sooooo smoothly.

Initially, it does feel and look dewy but thankfully it does seem to set and doesn’t leave me with an all day dewy look! I felt a bit oily and shiny during the first minute of application but I just do my hair and allow it to set before I apply my makeup. It does seem to help skin retain moisture throughout the day which in turn sort of make me feel a bit oily! I tucked it away for Winter use because it’s just a bit too much for warm, humid days. I did not notice an extension in the wear of my foundation! If anything, I experienced the same issue I did with It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Makeup Primer which was the fact it seemed to made my foundation fade a little faster.

None the less, I still liked this formula! It’s very hydrating, allows my foundation and makeup to apply very smoothly without adhering to drier areas, but it’s to potent for use in the Summer! This will be a god sent come Winter!

At this point you have to be pretty unique to catch a highlighter connoisseur’s eye because let’s face there are any number of different highlighter formulas, textures, finishes, and shades available from every brand around the beauty world.

Ciate Glow-To Highlighter ($29) is a new one to step up to bat and they bring a duo-chrome shade selection to the highlighting world. This new creamy powder highlighter promises a second-skin finish with a soft, easy to blend texture. Sounds pretty standard and familiar because most of the newer highlighters we see have that creamy, velvety texture everyone loves.

But wait there’s so much more…

These actually have coated pigments that act to shift the color for a duo chrome effect. Pink and Champagne are the colors up on offer and no word what the color shifts too but I’m hoping Pink maybe has a golden gleam of some sort?!

Ciate Glow-To Illuminating Blush ($26) is a new little luminous blush that the brand launched in six shade selections for the Summer 2017 season. I picked up two of these shades late last month as I skipped out on the newest shades of Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush that launched prior to these.

I’m pretty much in love with glow-y blushes especially for Summer looks (we all know the mad love affair I have with NARS Orgasm). Sadly, I wasn’t a huge fan of Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush when they launched and I had some reservations about the marble baked formula of Ciate’s Glow-To Illuminating Blush for this reason but I decided I’d check them out and see if they might just impress me.

And they did…!

Ciate Glow-To Illuminating Blush are pretty tiny weighting in at 0.14 oz in size with the compact being about the size of a MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow. It’s a pretty small and cute blush with a yellow beige face plate that has a star background and a ribbon decorating the front. There’s a standard mirror tucked inside as well.

The powder is just as pretty as the compact as it’s a pretty burst design with a ribbon embossing decorating the powder. I find the embossing doesn’t fade away quickly, it’s pressed and cut fairly deeply into the powder so a few swipes of your brush won’t have the design disappearing.

I had some skepticism about the formula as it has a smooth appearance in the pot that I thought might cause issues with application as I expected to not be able to pick up color well with my brush. Turns out the smooth, firm, and dense formula was not difficult to use at all. It didn’t have any powdery kick up and was easy enough to pick with a regular blush brush but a small kabuku also works a treat at swirling and picking up the color easily. I wouldn’t say these were packed with pigment but they are so perfect for people like me who have a heavy hand with their blush. They are incredibly difficult to over apply and have a natural, seamless, smooth finish on cheeks without looking caking or adhering to drier areas. The formula is very easy to build upon. They wear very well for a good seven hours before showing signs of wear. I thought they looked quite natural and healthy with a subtle touch of a shimmer finish. I wouldn’t say these produced the same glow you’d get from say NARS Orgasm. According to the brand they created them to contain the same amount of blush and highlighter but I felt like they contained more blush versus highlighter. I thought they appeared shimmery versus luminous or radiant but it wasn’t a disco ball sparkle but merely a touch of shimmer.

I got two of the six shades they launched (one shade is exclusively available on Ciate’s website) but I think I’ll purchase a few others as I like how easy these are to work with.

All in all, Ciate Glow-To Illuminating Blush was a delightful little blush that produced natural color in an easy to use formula! I’d totally buy more shades.

I could not resist picking up a few shades of those Ciate Glow-To Illuminating Blush that launched last week. Don’t they look gorgeous? Ciate launched them in five shades (well, six as one is exclusive to their site).

Let’s take a peek at the shades I picked up.

These sold out major fast and there is like two shades in stock at Sephora.com but no worries they will likely restock soon. I couldn’t get over how small the pots were when they arrived as I’m used to Ciate’s larger compacts like the ones they released with the Olivia Palermo collaboration. These are small in shape than a MAC Powder Blush and hold 0.141 oz of powder.

I wasn’t terribly interested in the new shades of Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush this year. But these little Ciate blushes did catch my eye. They have very smooth baked formula with swirls of highlighter and blush twirled together. Apparently you have to layer for more intense color. I’m testing them, will review shortly, and of course, let you know how pigmented they are or aren’t but I thought you’d like to see what they look like for yourself!

There’s such a wide range of formulas, textures, and shades in this set. If you aren’t terribly brave or daring this is a great way to try out a new, bold lip color without committing to a full-size of a single shades. This set is filled with on trend berry shades as well as beautiful, festive reds, purples, and even a rather brilliant hot pink. There’s long-wearing liquid lipsticks to try out here and more traditional satiny lipsticks.

My favorite shade in the collection was the rather stunning Sephora Rouge Cream in Belly-Dancing which reminded me of my beloved Bite Beauty VIB Rouge Creme Lipstick! It was also my favorite formula with a smooth, creamy formula that glided on easily.

The only formula I struggled with was Laura Mercier’s Velour Lovers Lip Colour as it dragged a bit during application and wasn’t as smooth and creamy as I expected to be! All the other formulas applied beautifully and easily with excellent pigmentation. I have reviews of many of these formulas already on my site, check the archives for more detailed reviews.

All in all, the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Bold Lip is an excellent way to try out some new, bold shades of lip color at a nice price! This set was fun to play with and worth a pick up if you’re a little scared of bolder lip looks as it gives you plenty of options to play with and I guarantee you’re bound to come out of the experience wanting to buy a full-size or two of a shade and formula found in this set.
