Have you compressed your skin’s barrier using too many acids? Are you sensitive? Do products break you out? Bliss Mighty Biome Pre/Post Biotics + Barrier Aid Moisturizer ($25) is here to the rescue!
Bliss Mighty Biome Pre/Post Biotics + Barrier Aid Moisturizer is a product I started using a few months ago when the brand sent me a sample. I honestly, didn’t think much of it at the time but I’ve come to appreciate it for a number of reasons greatly which I’ll share with you shortly.
This is a unique moisturizer that contains ceramides and beta carotene to hydrate skin as well as strengthen the skin’s natural barrier. When I’m experiencing skin issues I tend to migrate towards products like Skinceuticals Hydra Balm which is my ride or die in the Winter when my skin is super dry. It’s a very soothing and hydrating formula but not one everyone will enjoy due to its Vaseline-like consistency.
That’s where Bliss Mighty Biome Pre/Post Biotics + Barrier Aid Moisturizer comes in.
As I get older I notice that my normally dry skin isn’t as appreciative of me switching up and adding new items to my routine. I remember last weekend I was experiencing a few issues with my skin being a bit too sensitive. I’m not really sure what caused it but I think it was my AHA. Lately, I’ve noticed that the injection of acids into my skincare routine does mean I’m a lot more sensitive to what I can and can’t use.
One of my top items to have in my arsenal when using acids is a solid moisturizer that’s fragrance-free, not too heavy, but one that provides plenty of moisture. I tend to get a flush on my skin after acid use and I feel a bit sensitive. Following up with what I call “a healing moisturizer” is key to making sure my skin stays well hydrated and the flush I’m experiencing is eased after application of the moisture.
That’s where Bliss Mighty Biome Pre/Post Biotics + Barrier Aid Moisturizer comes into play. I know, this sounds like some sort of ad because I was provided a sample for review but trust me, this is one you should stock up on if you’re an acid user. Trust me, it’s a very good moisturizer for soothing, calming, and hydrating skin without being heavy. And hey, if you aren’t an acid user that’s fine! It works a treat for sensitive users as well. Or hey, if you just want a highly hydrating moisturizer that works great on drier skin this is perfect.

This is a lightly textured cream that has absolutely no scent. Initially during application, it feels a touch greasy but absorbs SUPER quickly and leaves skin incredible soft, smooth, and well hydrated without leaving behind a greasy or sticky film. It’s a moisturizer that truly works double duty in the asobortion department. This stuff just sinks in and feels absolutely weightless yet skin feels super duper smooth. It’s very soothing. I’ve actually used it as a daily moisturizer but it really excels at soothing skin after using an acid. For example, I really love BlissPro Liquid Exfoliant but it can tingle a bit and after I feel like my skin needs a little TLC, and applying this after is a perfect compliment to the peel!

I thought I’d share this little gem today because Bliss is having 30% off sitewide using code BLISSFUN. Bliss Mighty Biome Pre/Post Biotics + Barrier Aid Moisturizer is a great addition to routines that contain a good deal of acid that may be making skin sensitive. It’s soothing, highly moisturizing, and aids in building up the skin’s natural barrier!
Bliss Mighty Biome Pre/Post Biotics + Barrier Aid Moisturizer is available now!
Bliss Mighty Biome Pre/Post Biotics + Barrier Aid Moisturizer is $25, 2 oz in size, and comes housed a squeeze tube. This is a fragrance-free moisturizer that’s loaded with incredibly soothing and moisturizing ingreidents to act to support the skin’s natural skin barrier and also, to protect and heal it. It’s lightly creamy, absorbs quickly, and leaves skin smooth and well hydrated without being overly greasy. It’s a great pick for sensitive skin or for anyone who uses acids that may make skin red or sensitive after use. I personally thought it even made a nice moisturizer for daily use for drier skin types. It’s not heavy nor too rich and feels very light on skin!
Water (Aqua) (Eau), Tridecyl Stearate, Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Propanediol, Squalane, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Palmitate, Panthenol, Tocopherol, Magnesium Carboxymethyl Beta-Glucan, Lactococcus Ferment Lysate, Ceramide NP, Beta-Carotene, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Zinc PCA, Lactic Acid, Allantoin, Glycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrogenated Phosphatidylcholine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Hexylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Benzoate, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide

Hyaluronic Acid has really taken the beauty world by storm in the last two years. It’s pretty much in every single skincare product you come across nowadays and for good reason as it truly is a superstar ingredient.
Hyaluronic acid help increase skin moisture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by acting like a magnet and drawing moisture to the skin. I’ve been obsessed with a variety of Hyaluronic Acids over the years, particularly Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Lotion which is not only my ride or die but also, by far, the best Hyaluronic Acid I’ve ever tried. But, of course, like a true beauty junkie I cheat on my favorites which means I have a constant rotation of different Hyaluronic Acid potions in my stash.
Here are three Hyaluronic Acids I highly recommend grabbing.
Youth to the People Triple Peptide + Cactus Hydrating + Firming Oasis Serum $54
Youth to the People is probably one of my fav skincare lines of the moment and when I heard they were introducing a HA serum I was all about grabbing it. I’ve been using this for several months and absolutely adore it. This incredibly blended formula contains peptide-infused, hyaluronic-acid and can be used not only on your face but also, under your eyes. I use it on damp skin after my morning shower as the first step in my skincare. I feel like it creates that smooth, bouncy skin that I seek plus the finer lines under my eyes look refreshed and rested after a drop of this. It also, helps my skin retain moisture which results in a smoother makeup appearance.
Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Serum $42
Glow Recipe is sadly, not a great skin collection for my drier skin. This is definitely a suitable line for someone younger and oilier than I am but I have a lot of love for Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer. This is def one you want to be sure to use on damp skin as it tends to leave skin feeling very tight if you use it on drier skin. Applied correctly you’ll immediately notice the skin is more hydrated, bouncy, and brighter looking courtesy of the way this draws moisture into dry, dehydrated skin. This is a keeper for sure!
Bliss Drench & Quench 4 Hyaluronic Acids + Amino Acids All-Day Moisture Serum $27
Well, wow, a HA serum that actually works on clean, dry skin! This one you can apply on dry skin without fear of that dreaded tight feeling. This is LOADED with a crazy amount of HA! Just look at the ingredients and be thrilled by the fact it contains Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, and Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate plus amino acids to keep skin hydrated, bright, and happy. A true star in the word of HA serums!
What’s your favorite Hyaluronic Acid serum?

]]>The post Bliss Pro Liquid Exfoliant Combines Three Different Exfoliants Into One Formula To Either Burn Your Face Off Or Brighten It appeared first on Musings of a Muse.
]]>
Bliss Pro Liquid Exfoliant ($20) is a new wash-off 11.8% AHA, BHA, PHA formula that acts to resurface the skin as it brightens, smooths, and clarifies skin. Scared? Yeah, me too. The idea of combining now one but three different exfoliants into one formula sounds terrifying but not impossible.
Bliss was all, “Screw this! We’re going to just make a formula to address all skin types in one formula!” I’ve never technically had to combine exfoliants to combat different skincare concerns. As a dry skin girl living a pore-free life, I rely on AHA which is typically in the form of lactic acid, glycolic acid, or sometimes citric acid. AHAs are also made up of molecules that love water and they can improve the skin’s moisture levels.
If you are combining exfoliants you typically do so by separating them into your day and night routine but never combining them all into a single routine. But Bliss, Bliss really went there. They just threw it all together into their new 11.8% AHA, BHA, and PHA Liquid Exfoliant. Glossier Solution is one such product that also takes on combining all three formulations of exfoliants into one product!
Bliss has vastly improved their line of skincare lately. I’ve been impressed with some of their offerings lately but Drench & Quench 4 Hyaluronic Acids + Amino Acids All-Day Moisture Serum was the item that really sealed the deal for me. It’s fantastic. That’s why I’m putting trust in this new Bliss Pro Liquid Exfoliant.
I admit the idea of three acids formulations in one is a little scary but I’m willing to jump in here for the sake of science and beauty. The AHA part of this formula comes in the form of Glycolic Acid which acts to remove dead skin cells and brighten up your complexion. The BHA part is salicylic acid which clarifies and tightens pores, and the gentle PHA portion is gluconolactone. Gluconolactone is actually a superstar of an ingredient that not only exfoliates but also draws water to the skin and acts to hydrate.
The thing that sets Bliss Pro Liquid Exfoliant apart from Glossier’s formula is the fact that it has a higher level of acids at 11.8% versus Glossier’s formula at 10%. But also, this formula is not meant to be left on the skin whereas Glossier’s version is. Bliss recommends sweeping this on and washing it off after two minutes.
Is it going to burn your face off? Likely not. I realize the idea of three acid formulas in one sounds scary but my bets are it’ll be fairly gentle and beneficial if you stick with it. I haven’t tried it yet but Bliss was kind enough to send a PR package over with it and I’ll test it out and let you know what I think in a few weeks. Most Tiktoker’s have tried it for a week and report all these incredible results but I need a lot more time to decide if it is or isn’t working.
Stay tuned!
Bliss Pro Liquid Exfoliant is available now exclusively at Target.

Bliss Cold Pressed Olive Oil Foaming Cleanser, No Dull Days Purifying Cleanser, and Oh My Gommage! Gentle Polishing Cleanser are three new exfoliating and cleansing sticks from the Bliss Spa Labs that recently launched at Ulta. Tarte Frxxxtion Stick 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser is still my exfoliating stick of choice! I really love that thing although I run through it crazy fast! But I’m so willing to try something new! Perhaps the Bliss Oh My Gommage! Gentle Polishing Cleanser might be a good replacement.
In 2016, stick everything seemed to be the order of business! Blush sticks, cleansing sticks, moisturizing sticks, etc….this seems to be a trend that’s catching on with drugstore brands at the moment as well and since I consider Bliss more of a drugstore brand at the moment it is in fact taking on the trend as well!
Bliss No Dull Days Purifying Cleanser ($15 on sale for $12.75) is an oil absorbing cleansing stick that contains charcoal to detox and purify skin. Apparently it acts to cleanse as well as exfoliates skin!
Bliss Cold Pressed Olive Oil Foaming Cleanser ($15 on sale for $12.75) might be a great pick for those of us with drier skin as apparently it contains more than 40% olive old to gently clean skin while melting away makeup and dirt.
And finally for those needing a little gentle exfoliating action the new Bliss Oh My Gommage! Gentle Polishing Cleanser ($15 on sale for $12.75) is a non-abrasive exfoliate that contains plant-based fibers to capture and roll away dead skin cells without the graininess of a traditional exfoliating scrub.
They sound pretty cool I might just give the olive oil cleansing stick a try as it sounds perfect for drier skin!
All of Bliss is on sale this week at Ulta with prices slashed 20 to 30% so if you’ve been wanting to try some of their new items now is a good time!

]]>The post Bliss In the Honey Mega Moisturizing Lavender Honey Mask Review appeared first on Musings of a Muse.
]]>
Bliss In the Honey Mega Moisturizing Lavender Honey Mask ($12.99) is a gel mask created with drier skin types in mind that softens, smooths, and hydrates dry, tired skin.
As you may know Bliss reinvented themselves a few short months ago with brand new packaging and lower prices. I’m actually really proud of them as a brand as instead of just closing shop due to perhaps poorer sales they sat down, thought about things, and decided ok, the way to go is new brighter packaging and more affordable prices. I don’t think they were all that expensive before but now they seem even more attainable with prices starting as low as $10 bucks. They are also available at mask retailers such as Target and Ulta.
I mean, I’m only assuming their new packaging and prices might be due to poorer sales, I don’t know that for a fact but none the less they are bright, fresh, newly packaged, and newly priced if you’re look to rediscover your love for Bliss or to introduce yourselves to them for the first time.

Along with new packaging there are several new products available and one of those items is the Bliss In the Honey Mega Moisturizing Lavender Honey Mask. Oddly enough this is priced two different ways and I’m not entirely sure why that is. At Target it’s $12.99 yet at Ulta and directly from Bliss it’s $16. Same mask, same size, same everything. Shrug. No idea why that is but the best place to shop it if you want to try it would be directly from Target. Most of the new Bliss items are in store as well if you don’t relish the idea of shopping it online.
This is actually formulated surprisingly well aside from the fact it does contain lavender oil which may or may not be an issue for some skin types. The lavender does give this a strong herbal scent plus lavender is a known skin irritant. It personally didn’t bother me but it is worth mentioning for sensitive skin types. The other issue is it does comes housed in a jar. A tube would be much, much more friendly to keep the mask nice and fresh. Aside from that it contains some fairly good hydrating ingredients such as glycerin.
I actually didn’t like it personally simply because I dislike honey masks of any kind. Korean brands are very fond of doing gel masks with honey and I find them a pain in the butt to remove. The same holds true for this formula. The consistency is a gel formula that’s very thick and honey-like in texture but not sticky nor tacky. You smooth it on, sit around 10 to 15 minutes, and rinse with cool water or tissue off. In my experience, removing with a tissue is the way to go because getting this off with water is impossible and you really have to sit there and rinse, and rinse, and rinse, and rinse, and rinse some more. It’s just really difficult to remove and one of the main reasons I disliked it so much. I took to using a wet wash cloth as that makes things a lot easier.

The other reason I didn’t love it is because it really didn’t provide that much of a dramatic result. I like a mask that provides some visible results and this just didn’t do much. According to the brand it would ease dullness and hydrate skin. I experience some light hydration but nothing dramatic and my dull skin was still quite tired looking after I used it.
It just felt like a mediocre formula that provides a bit of moisture but not much else.
Shrug.
Oh well!
Bliss In the Honey Mega Moisturizing Lavender Honey Mask might be a good pick for someone who wants a bit of lightweight moisture but for those of with really dry skin you might want to select something else to restore hydration!
Bliss In the Honey Mega Moisturizing Lavender Honey Mask is a hydrating mask created for normal to dry skin types that’s 1.7 oz in size and will set you back around $13 bucks. The mask has lavender oil in it which gives it a rather strong scent that might be an issue for sensitive users but I find it pleasant enough. It’s a thicker gel consistency that reminded me of honey but wasn’t tacky nor sticky. I did have severe problems washing it off so removing it with a tissue or a wet wash cloth was necessary. It left my skin lightly hydrated but nothing dramatic which did disappoint me since I have drier, duller skin I was hoping it would address.
Water, Glycerin, Disiloxane, Betaine, Hydrogenated Poly (C6-14 Olefin), Glycosyl Trehalose, 1,2-Hexanediol, Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Honey, Propolis Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, Lavandula Angustfolia (Lavender) Oil, Squalane, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Isostearate, Dextrin, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Carbomer, Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Tromethamine, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, Red 4.
I can see this being an easy enough pick for those with normal skin types that require a lightly hydrating mask that gives skin a smoother look and feel but anyone with really dry skin might not see the benefits.

I stopped in Kohl’s last week and ran across a treasure chest of Bliss Cosmetics on sale! If you didn’t know Bliss launched an entire color cosmetics line in 2015 which made a brief appearance on my wish list but gathered dust on it while I explored other items higher up on the list. I sort of forgot how much I wanted to try it until recently when it popped on SALE everywhere!
Kohls.com has a bunch of items available on sale at the moment and so do stores (although the two stores I visited had a lot of opened, swatched items) and blissworld.com also has a select few items.
But by far the best place to haul is from hautelook.com as everything is $9.97 and at least you know it’ll be in pristine condition when you get it versus buying it in store.
I’m glad I waited as after seeing quite a few items on sale at my local stores I left disenchanted since the boxes were sort of knocked up and the contents looked used. I ended up heading home only to realize hautelook.com had a ton of the stuff! More than the store! So, I grabbed quite a few items.
I’m not sure if this is a goodbye to the entire line but I imagine it is since their website seems to be completely cleared up of any of the line! Or maybe they are relaunching who knows! Still means a great sale for us! Yay!
Hopefully you score a deal.
Enjoy!

Winter’s here so products like Bliss Micro Magic Spa-Powered Microdermabrasion Treatment are essential for a dry, flaky complexion! I must say I have dry skin but I can’t exfoliate it often as that does more bad than good.
BUT…I do like to sit down and do a once a week scrub to remove flakes, soften up skin, and just to whisk away dry skin and Bliss Micro Magic Spa-Powered Microdermabrasion Treatment is one of those perfect deep scrubs to really get my skin super smooth!
Bliss Micro Magic Spa-Powered Microdermabrasion Treatment is formulated with fine grains of volcanic pumice suspended in a thick, creamy scrub. Dare I say it feels like I’ve given myself a chemical peel after I’ve used it as man it really goes deep. I think the texture could be potentially too much for those prone to redness or even just general sensitive users but also there’s peppermint oil in this which can be equally upsetting to certain skin types. It does contain aloe as well as a mushroom extract with apparent calms skin. But this is a very powerful scrub so sensitive users beware!
Personally my skin is so achingly dry at times it doesn’t mind a harsher, grainier facial scrub. To use this simply apply a quarter size amount on your face and gently massage. The scrub kinda does the work for you so use as little pressure as possible when massaging it on. Work it in for a minute (or less if you’re sensitive) and proceed to rinse. It has a really lovely fresh peppermint fragrance and since it contains peppermint oil after you’ll get a cooling sensation on your skin well after rinsing.
I feel a little tight after using this so I apply argan oil after drying off. My skin is SUPER smooth after using it. It does a heck of a good job if you use it on your nose as well if you have blackheads in this area you can use the scrub around your nose and follow up with a Biore Nose Strip. This loosens the blackheads and makes it easier for the nose strip to yank them out!

If you have drier skin once a week with Bliss Micro Magic Spa-Powered Microdermabrasion Treatment will whisk away dry, flaky skin! If you have oily or combination skin you might be able to get away with using it twice a week and it should do a great job not only softening your skin but whisking away oil as well!
It’s available now at Sephora and Sephora.com.

]]>The post Bliss Fabulips Pout-o-matic Spa Powered Lip-Perfecting System Review appeared first on Musings of a Muse.
]]>
The Bliss Fabulips Pout-o-matic Spa Powered Lip-Perfecting System ($48) is an exfoliating lip tool that sounds rather gimmicky! When Bliss originally introduced the Pout-o-matic I remember thinking, “Hmmm do I really need a tool to exfoliate my lips?”
Turns out I do.

Sure, the Bliss Fabulips Pout-o-matic Spa Powered Lip-Perfecting System sounds like an utter gimmick but actually it works amazingly well. I typically buy a dense tooth brush and use it along with an exfoliating lip scrub to exfoliate my lips. My lips chap easily and are almost always dry (especially lately) and flaky. It’s NOT very pretty when you apply lipstick on top of drier, flakier lips.

The Pout-o-Matic comes as a set which includes the exfoliating tool as well as a full size Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub. The beautiful thing about the Pout-o-Matic is the fact it’s so gently. I think I do myself more harm than good when I use a toothbrush to exfoliate my already dry, raw, red lips. This looks like an electronic toothbrush but it’s a little shorter in size. It’s a rotary device that runs on two batteries and has a soft custom head with small massaging numbs that gently exfoliate lips. At first I thought that it would do the same job my toothbrush does already. But nope! This is far more gentle yet still effectively removes flaky, drier areas and gives you back smooth lips again. The head actually spins quite quickly and although not rough it still exfoliates lips beautifully. I simply rub a bit of the Fabulips Scrub on lips and I proceed to go over the area with the exfoliating head. You can slowly massage your lips with it for 30 to 60 seconds, wipe excess scrub off after, and follow up with your favorite moisturizing lip balm.
I’ve started using it at night and prior to lipstick in the morning too. It removes flakes and makes my lips super smooth and soft! I love they included the Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub with this set because it’s the ideal scrub to use with the tool considering it’s a very refined scrub and has a light, barely there citrus flavor. The Fabulips Scrub contains sugar and fine graines of almonds and walnuts to exfoliate plus jojoba oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter to hydrate.
Used together this set is a powerhouse system to get your dry lips super smooth and soft again.
It’s a little pricey at $48 but now that I’ve used it I’m not sure how I loved without it!
The Bliss Fabulips Pout-o-matic Spa Powered Lip-Perfecting System is the perfect gift for those with drier lips (or for yourself)!
Loves it!
